Royal Obidos golf course is one of the newst golf courses in the West region. Designed by Severiano Ballesteros this golf course gives an important contribution to a rising golf region just west of Lisbon. A Par 72 Championship course with long fairways, ( the course layout spanning 6400mt) and stunning seaside views makes Royal Obidos not only an wonderfull course to play but also will represent a true test of golf for players of all levels.

Given the recent weather we knew the course would be wet in places, but we didn't expect to find the fairways longer than the rough in the UK!! That said, the greens were in excellent condition but the tee boxes certainly needed some attention.

Greens were excellent. Fairways were terrible. Like a swamp. We lost balls on the fairways that disappeared underground.

Poor weather again. Course not as well presented as they would have liked. Lots of mowing had left wet grass cuttings and somewaht untidy areas on the course.

Once again the pace of play was very slow until we asked the Course Marshall on several occasion to hurry people up. 5 plus hours is too long. The course is a championship course that they allow beginners to take hours over playing.

Interesting new golf course, needs some time, modern Clubhouse, practice facility need a short game area for training with groups. Rangeballs quality and quantity not worth.

Rain for the previous few days caused the course to be very wet. Buggies only allowed on paths. Good job we had a buggy as a very long walk from 1st green to 2nd tee! Round was very slow. Dining area in the clubhouse was lovely with great views. Excellent food choice and tasty.

Extremely slow play. Course Marshall came round 3 times and failed to do anything about the large gap in front of the groups 4 ahead.

Beautiful course, quite difficult a week after the Portuguese Open, fast greens and heavy rough.
Ground staff very helpful.

Great course.
However, the low availability of buggies is a bit of a shame, especially if you have such long ways between the holes (e.g. from 1 to 2!)

Very nice and interesting golf course, well maintained and the greens are fantastic. A cart is recommended. The service in the clubhouse was ok. I would appreciate more informations from the reception and more interest from the side of teh caddie master. I boked a set of left handed golf clubs got it and realised at the driving range that the iron 8 was missing. I went back and aksed the caddie master and he just told me that someone lost it a week ago.
