Aroeira Challenge Golf Course was built to European Tour recommendation standards in order to host major international golf events. One of the course's characteristics is its 5 tees per hole, making it suitable for all levels of players.|The course has a fairly different concept from Aroeira 1, consisting of large fast greens, some of which are more than 700 m2. There are bunkers on the fairways, some of them in the Scottish style of pot bunkers. But the sand traps are not the only obstacle that have to be taken into account: because of the course's five large lakes, water is a fairly constant hazard, particularly at the last nine holes.

The course itself was in very good condition but clubhouse facilities were disappointing before and after the golf.

Excellent golf course with lots of narrow fairways adding to the challenge. The challenge course is very far from the clubhouse meaning there is no easy place for a drink after the round is finished.

It is indeed a challenging golf course. Good layout and demanding holes using water, doglegs and bunkering. Greens very true. We would say it is the better of the Aroeira courses (so slightly better than Pines Classic). Very slow play though as a 5 hour round due to number of people on the course. Driving range on site but no bar/restaurant. Only downside on the course was the number of noisy builders and gardeners at work at various houses around the course.

We had a great time and game, the greens were a little patchy in places , that's the only issue.

Course is well designed and a great challenge. Unfortunately very busy far too many groups on the course which meant it took nearly 5 hours to play the round. I would play it again

We all thought it was a bit ''samey'' with the holes all very similar. greens in good condition but with all the pine trees you could get a really bad lie even on the fairway when roots were on or close to the surface.

It's a beautiful course in nice surroundings. It is unfortunate that maintenance leaves much to be desired. Although the greens were ok (little bit slow), it's regrettable to note that most of the flags sagged through the cup resulting in them being crooked and could be damaging the side of cup. The tee boxes are not all flat and had not been mowed. Also only yellow en red tee-markers, no bleu and only on some of the holes white. The fairways were mediocre because there were some bald patches in the grass and some longer weeds. Also there was a lot of coppice under the trees and stones in the bunkers. All above said, it didn't stop us to have a nice round of golf but it should be an encouragement to improve this golf course as it should have at least a score of 8.5.

Tee-Boxes in poor conditions, not well maintained. A lot of Pitch marks on the greens, but this is the responsability of the Players, not the Golf Course. Some players from the Residences start from Tee 2, what is bad for the players starting on Tee 1 who have to wait the on Tee 2. We were unlucky and started behind a Group, so playing time was more than 4 hours.

Very attractive course on the same estate as Aroeira 1 [A1] but without the clubhouse facilities. Very pretty course with some very impressive properties overlooking the holes. Much more water than A1, especially back nine, and some memorable holes. We felt this was every bit as good as A1

The course was not in the best condition. The tee areas were scruffy and there was a lot of damage on the greens with some areas under repair.
